This Breakfast Casserole Recipe is perfect for Christmas morning. You mix up the casserole the night before and refrigerate overnight. The next morning, you pop it into the oven. Before the little pieces of wrapping paper settles, a wonderful breakfast casserole is ready– hot and fresh out of the oven. And you have more time for the really important people in your life.
Make Ahead Breakfast Casserole Recipe
1 lb. sausage, browned, drained and crumbled
6 slices of white bread, torn into bite-size pieces
10 eggs, slightly beaten*
1 cup milk*
1 cup grated sharp cheese
1 tsp. dried mustard
1 tsp. salt (optional)
Mix all the ingredients together. Pour into a greased 9×13 inch casserole dish. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.
*You may reduce the eggs to 8 and increase the milk to 2 cups.
