Quirky Camping Tents to Make Backyard Camping Epic

Make backyard camping epic with these quirky camping tents. These tents may appear to be more fun than function, but don’t let their over-the-top style fool you. These are real tents- with real attitude.

FieldCandy Tents are super cute 2 man tents with fun designer looks. But these tents are also high performance camping tents. The flysheet is waterproof and flame retardant. It has lockable storage pockets and is larger than other two person tents. And they have over 40 designs available.

Trampoline Tent from Airbounce. Trampolines are spacious and comfortable places to sleep, until you wake up soaked in morning dew. But now you can buy a trampoline tent. This trampoline by Airbounce is available for 14ft and 12ft trampolines and it fits all trampoline makes.

VW Campervan Tent. The VW Campervan Tent comes in three colors- blue, peppermint green and red. The tent has two seperated double size rooms. It has a waterproof groundsheet sewn into the inside of tent. Sleeps 4. This tent is made to scale. It is the same size as the original T1 Campervan (1965). How cool is that?

The Treepee.  This little tent is a cross between a tree house, a trampoline and a tent.  It hangs from a tree.  You can allow it to move and sway or you can tether the four corners.  The fabric is fire retardant, water repellent and PU coated.  The Treepee comes in green, khaki and pink.

Camping kids and adults will love camping in these tents with their jaw dropping style.  Great for backyard camping or camping in a campground where you are sure to turn some heads.

I’ll see ya by the campfire.

The Great American Backyard Campout is this Saturday.  The Campout is the signature event of the National Wildlife Federation’s Be Out There Movement.  Their goal is to engage 10 million new kids in outdoor play over the next 3 years.

Here at A Little Campy, we support the Great American Backyard Campout.  You can read my other blog post about the Campout here.

  1. These look so fun – especially the treepee! Thanks for the shout out! :-)

  2. Great little collection of tents. The Field Candy tents are definitely our favourite ones. Their collection is fab *smile*

  3. LOVE these! I don’t know if I like the VW or the trampoline tent better!

I stopped by today, ’cause I’m working on the “Support Your Outdoor Bloggers” post for later this month. Hope you’re having a great summer!

  4. Have you seen these Tenstile tents yet? They similar in concept to your last Treepee, but they are larger and have hammocks in the spokes. It has me salivating!!!

Wow. Brightly colored tents that can damage trees. While I’m pleased that you are enthusiastic about camping, perhaps you should learn something about “Leave No Trace” camping (http://lnt.org/) and not recommend tents that clash with nature visually (I personally hate seeing tents when I’m hiking or exploring, especially if they do look like a vehicle I don’t want to see while trying to enjoy nature) or recommend tents that will quite possibly kill trees.
