Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler Recipe- Delicious Camping Dessert
Have you been looking for a delicious camping dessert? Our Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler Recipe is wonderful addition to any camping meal. Preparing your dry ingredients ahead of time allows this campfire dessert to be easy as well.
You will love this warm dessert. Make it even better by serving it with homemade ice cream. Great for those times when you are camping with extended family, friends or other large groups. This recipe works well with a 5 quart Dutch oven. For larger groups, you will need to double the recipe.
1 large can sliced peaches (29 oz)
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup milk
1 stick of margarine
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together (This may be done prior to camping trip. Then place in an air tight container).
In a Dutch oven over a medium campfire, melt the stick of butter.
Pour in the peaches and the dry ingredients.
Stir the ingredients together, adding in the milk and sugar.
Place lid on the Dutch oven. Place Dutch oven over approximately 10 briquettes and place 10 hot briquettes on top of the lid. Cook for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
When cooking this recipe at home, bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
