Gear Review: Grand Trunk Micro Stool
Don’t you love when you find equipment that makes your outdoor activities easier? I certainly do. So when I was given the opportunity to review the Grand Trunk Micro Stool, I signed right up.
When I saw the Micro Stool, my first thought was…fishing stool! Upon receiving it in a large envelope, I announced to my husband that my new fishing stool had arrived. He was a little suspicious.
“Really? You have a fishing stool in that envelope?”
Absolutely. You see, the Grand Trunk Micro Stool is a collapsible stool. It only weighs 10 oz and comes in a stuff sack. After you take the stool out of the sack, you extend the legs and set up the stool. There are no extra pieces and you don’t need any tools. Despite the small size, this stool can hold up to 250 pounds.

What We Love About the Micro Stool
It’s so easy & compact. Throw it in your backpack, purse, diaper bag or in your tackle box. Then you always have a dry place to sit and it’s more comfortable than sitting on the ground. I find it most comfortable when sitting with my legs extended and ankles crossed. It reminds me of sitting on a log or bale of hay, except it’s cleaner and you can keep it dry. It has a gear pocket underneath the seat in case you want to store some small items.
The seat measures 9″ x 9.5″. Although we find the stool very comfortable, it was startling when we first set it up. Your mind automatically tells you that it is too small. The best thing to do is just sit on it and try it out for yourself. I think you will be surprised at the comfort level.
If you just can’t wrap your mind around this concept, you might want to consider the Grand Trunk Camp Stool. It’s a larger version of the Micro Stool. It has more butt room and is further off the ground.
The only problem I had with the Micro Stool was that my toddler claimed it immediately. It’s small. She’s small. She thought it was hers. I need to buy her one so we are not all fighting over the stool.
The Bottom Line
We love the Grand Trunk Micro Stool. It's so compact and easy. It's a great fishing stool. It's also just good to carry in your bag. You never know when you will need a good, convenient, dry place to sit.
Disclosure of Material Connection: I received the Micro Stool for free from Grand Trunk as coordinated by Deep Creek Public Relations in consideration for review publication.
