Why We Love Summer Camping
Longer camping trips. WooHoo! Forget about the long camping weekends. Bring on the camping weeks. More time to do all those things you’ve been wanting to do at the campsite.
Water activities are back! Now after a long morning of fishing, you can cool down with an afternoon of swimming. Oh, yeah!
Longer days mean more time doing your favorite camping activities and non-activities. That means more hiking, more boating, more bird watching, more biking and more catching up on your favorite novels.
Summer is a great time to camp with friends and extended family. Not everyone is into camping but when the weather is nice it’s easier to introduce folks to camping and all the fun that goes along with it.
Time to break out the grill. During the winter, we love cooking comfort food in our Dutch oven. On hot summer days we like to cook fresh veggies and do some grilling (see my Grilled Vegetable recipe here and Spicy Grilled Tilapia recipe here).
Yep, it’s that time again. School’s out so let the celebration and camping begin!
I’ll see ya by the campfire.
What do you enjoy about summer camping?
