S'more St. Patrick's Day Desserts

Today, we have more St. Patrick’s Day desserts for you.  Our S’more Search 2012 took a detour last week when our Minty S’mores went up in flames (literally).  They were not a complete flop, they are just better suited for high end campers and glampers that enjoy flaming desserts.

Of course, you guys are the best.  You quickly came up with more ideas to improve the Minty S’more Recipe.  Suzi S. had a great idea on how we could bypass the flaming marshmallow issue.

Suzi S. wrote, “How about a chocolate with mint in it?  A bar that has mint fondant in the middle might not work but there’s ones that are mint flavored.”

Terri M. stopped by our facebook page and suggested Ghiardelli chocolate for the s’mores. Making a s’more with quality chocolate…sounds good, doesn’t it?

So, today I combined both these ideas to make our Mint S’more Dessert.

Mint S’more Dessert Recipe

Place a graham cracker on a cookie sheet.  Top with a Ghiardelli Dark Chocolate with Mint square.

Add 4 mini marshmallows.

Broil until the marshmallows are slightly toasted.

I added a little white chocolate (mixed with green food coloring) for decoration.  Of course, you can also roast a large marshmallow over a campfire to replace the mini marshmallows and add a graham cracker to the top.

St. Patrick’s Day S’more Pops

Our next St. Patrick’s Day dessert recipe is super easy.  It is also a fun decorating activity for the kids.

Skewer a large marshmallow with a wooden skewer.  Prepare Baker’s Dipping Chocolate by microwaving it according to the directions.  I used both the milk chocolate and the white chocolate version.  You may want to add a little green food coloring to the white chocolate.

Dip the marshmallows in the chocolate.  Add your favorite sprinkles. Place in a glass to dry.

I found some candy googley eyes  while I was shopping.  Of course, I could not pass those by!  My kids thought the googley eyes were a hoot!  They had a great time decorating these S’more Pops.

These St. Patrick’s Day S’more Pops would be adorable for a St. Patrick’s Day get together.

Cute.  Fun.  A food that is also a craft.  What is not to love?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

I’ll see ya by the campfire.
