Unveiling My Sherpa Site- Outdoor Blog Makeover

Kellytown Lake Fishing Rodeo

Well, it’s time for the big reveal.  I’m unveiling my Sherpa Site.  If you’ve been following my blog for a while you’ve probably noticed that things look a little different around here.  My website has undergone an outdoor blog makeover.

My blog is now a Sherpa Site.  Sherpa Sites is the only hosted WordPress based blogging platform dedicated to the outdoors.  So if you have always wanted your own outdoors website, the Trail Sherpa Team can make it happen- quick and easy.

I’ve had an outdoors blog for a while now.   So, why did I make the change?

Benefits of a Sherpa Site for an Established Blogger

Genesis Framework. When I first started blogging, I was content with my theme, but I have outgrown it.  It’s like buying a home.  When you first buy it, you love your large house until you have three kids.  Then you realize how tiny your house has become.  The Genesis Framework is a premium WordPress Theme.  You can do so much with it.  This theme can grow with my blog.

Trail Sherpa Design Team.  I’ve always wanted to have a custom website.  Working with the Trail Sherpa Design Team was incredible.  Jessica, web designer, guru and social media extra-ordinaire,  is very talented.  I told her about my dream website and her response was, “We can do that.”  Really?

The Trail Sherpa Family.  That’s right.  I’ve got people.  All bloggers know, you can’t be a successful blogger on your own.  You need blogging friends, connections and people to support you and your blog.  That is a  huge perk when it comes to Sherpa Sites.  This also comes in handy for bloggers like me who are, shall we say, technologically challenged.

Syndication.  Move over Seinfeld Winnie from The WonderYears, The Campy Mom is now in syndication (did I really just compare myself to Jerry Seinfeld).  My URL has not changed but my content is now syndicated to Trailsherpa.com.

Good people.  I have been working with Tim Miner, founder of  Trail Sherpa, for several months on a blogging project, along with several other outdoor bloggers.  The decision to become a Sherpa Site was easy because Tim is very professional and he is a dedicated outdoorsman.

So, come on in.  Take a look around.  Do ya’ll smell that?  That’s the new website smell.  I’m going to try to keep that as long as I can. Wink

I’ll see ya by my new really cute campfire (with the gingham tent).

Great make-over! Keep up the good work! BTW, it’s beautiful in Monterey, CA. We spent several hours at the Monterey Bay Aquarium….a magnificent place for kids and adults alike. Have a great weekend. We will!!!

Love the new look! And all the links work! We can archive to our hearts content until we’ve seen every thing we’ve missed. Congratulations!!!

    • Campy Mom says:

HaHa! That was actually what I was thinking when you sent me the email that my archives link was broken. I didn’t know how to fix it and I knew I would be getting a new website soon. And now, I have “people” who know how to fix it. Thank goodness!

  4. Love the new look. Very nice!

  5. Great look… noticed when I got back from screen-free week but missed reading this post :D
