Women camping is trending now. More and more women are spending time camping, hiking and canoeing.
Women are now camping with their other female friends. That’s right. Girl’s night out just got wild. What better way to catch up with your friends than around a campfire, canoeing down a river or hiking.
And women camping is not just for the young, it is also for the young at heart. Retired women and middle-aged women are also camping. Many women are buying and fixing up vintage RV’s and campers. The little vintage trailers are so cute! In fact, these campers are considered glampers (glamorous campers). These glampers celebrate International Glamping Weekend which is scheduled for June 1st and 2nd in 2013. Visit their website for more glamping tips, articles and to find a glamping gathering or post one of your own here.
In addition, many women are taking outdoor classes and workshops. Becoming an Outdoors Woman programs are being offered to women of all ages. These weekend workshops offer many classes to choose from such as fly fishing, kayaking, outdoor photography, outdoor survival skills and more. These classes are great for beginners or for experienced outdoors women who would like to learn a new outdoors activity. For more information on the Becoming an Outdoors Woman programs in Georgia, visit the Georgia Department of Natural Resources website here. In Florida, visit the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission website here.
Camping clubs for women are also cropping up around the country. These camping clubs schedule events, activities and camp outs for their members. If you are interested in joining a camping club with other women, visit these websites for more information:
Camping has always been popular among women- at least the cool ones;) More and more women are spending time in the great outdoors… with their families, their kids, their husbands and sometimes their best gal pals.
I’ll see around the campfire.

Do you ever camp with your girl friends (or go canoeing, fishing, etc…)? Is it something you consider?

I love to camp and most of the time it is with my friend and her girls. So much fun!
That sounds like fun!!
I have to agree, most of my clients are women and many are there to relax, they want to learn how to safely take their kids out in nature! I love working with so many wonderful women and families!
